The rollercoaster of life…

I hope this blog finds you well and happy!
I wanted to share a little bit of my July, which was very much a rollercoaster my friend. When we share on social media and emails, we often focus on the highlights, the best parts, the good things… and I very much believe in focusing on the better things in life, as what we focus on grows. But I don’t want to only ever share the highlights with you. I felt the call to share today, to show you my humanness and the messiness that life can sometimes be.
The beginning of July started with some lovely highlights… First, I ran my Masterclass: No is a complete sentence. I really enjoyed running this class, and got some beautiful feedback from participants.
Then my partner, Toni and I had a delightful belated Anniversary Date Day, watching MJ the Musical, which was absolutely sensational! And very much filled my joy-bucket.
Second week of July Toni, my daughter Alex and I headed to Margaret River in the Southern corner of Western Australia… While Toni was working Alex and I had some lovely quality 1:1 mother daughter time, and on the Friday night the 3 of us headed out for a delicious fine dining gourmet dinner (with cocktails of course).
However, I started to feel a little unwell on the Friday night I pushed through as I really didn’t want to miss out… Saturday morning, I woke up feeling rather unwell, Toni popped to the chemist for supplies and once again I pushed through to go Horse Riding with Toni and Alex. I really didn’t want to miss out, it had been booked for weeks and I was really looking forward to it. I did enjoy the experience, but not nearly as much as I would have, had I been well…
Sunday we came home, and I tested positive for Influenza-A… ended up spending the entire week in bed, cancelled all my plans and really leaned into listening to what my body needed. When one is their own boss, calling in sick is actually so much harder than you would think, as no one else is going to do the work, but I really had to stop, rest and recover. And yes, I did manage to share with the rest of the family, Toni, then Alex and finally my eldest daughter Kaylee. Let me tell you, Influenza-A is no joke, it’s up there with Covid. We were very unwell…
Still recovering, mostly better and testing negative, but with the post virus cough and a little fatigue… Toni and I headed over to Cairns, which was a highlight for sure! Was so nice to be in the warmth and the tropics. I had 3-days of dance at Tribal in the Tropics, annual Global Caravan Dance Festival and Toni got to be a tourist and in complete holiday mode. We had a couple of extra days, where we went on some fun adventures. I really enjoyed having 1:1 quality time with Toni, and in true form on the last night she took me out to a fabulous fine-dining experience on the pier, which was the perfect end to our time in Cairns…
But the holiday didn’t end there, we were blessed to come home to Perth, Western Australia and have a few days before Toni went back to work and I decided to be in holiday mode with her for just a little longer… Coming back to Perth winter, was cold, but we had beautiful sunshine. For 4 more days, we went on adventures in our home town and essentially had a mini-staycation, which was fabulous!
Stepping back into work-mode has been a little challenging for us both, and taking some time to re-adjust.
So July was most definitely, full of lots of lovely highlights, but one very big lowlight… I am choosing to be grateful for the amazing life I get to live with the love of my life. I am so blessed!
I want to share a secret with you, my life has not always been so full of joy and love. I have been on my own very challenging journey to get me to where I am today… And although I feel I am travelling along my journey with lots of joy, I am certainly not without my challenges and lowlights.
If you are still with me, while I have got you, because July got a little hijacked, I have decided to extend my Special Coaching Call (complimentary) offer for a couple more weeks and have a few spots available in August. This call is for those who attended or watched the Masterclass: No is a complete sentence – if you have been sitting on the fence about booking a call, this is your sign to do it!
If you missed the class, please email me: peta@dragonflymagic.com.au and I will send you the link to the masterclass and link to book a call.
Much love & blessings,
